AIRBNB HUB
This was a one-week long project in response to a brief that was set by DCA Design International. The brief was to take a service-based brand and propose a physical product that would aid the brand in entering the new post-Covid world. I chose AirBnb as the brand I wanted to create a physical product for.

Through primary and secondary research methods I was able to identify that there were apparent issues with the host and guest communications throughout the pandemic. This difficulty in communication led to poor relationships between the host and their guests. Which unfortunately resulted in poor reviews being left by the guests.

I chose to design a smart interactive AirBnB Hub that would look at tackling this issue. The hub would be set up by the host and it would have all the information about the property as well as the amenities and the local area.
INTERNALS
The form of the smart hub was designed to look like the AirBnB logo so that it could be instantly recognised by the guests. The aim was that this hub would be installed into every AirBnB property across the globe and become part of the AirBnB experience.

If the guest was from a foreign country and struggled to speak the local language the hub would be able to be translated into their language to avoid any break-down in communication with the host or misunderstanding of information.
The Hub will give the host piece of mind that their guests are well informed about the property and that they will only be contacted in an emergency.

The Hub features an 11" screen that can be easily navigated by the guests. There is also speakers for verbal description or music purposes. The internal circuit board, speakers and wiring to the screen fit inside the body of the Hub (right)

The hub also features a spring loaded hook on the back of the body to allow the guest to hang the keys to the property. This will help the guest know where the keys are at all times and avoid the issue of lost keys.
